Don’t Be a Lost Sheep – Overview
This 5-part series is a wakeup call to the saved people who show up to church, but yet are lost sheep. It’s a call to action to actually serve the Lord, not just continuously show up to church and try to be a good Christian. As always, the Holy Spirit has given us revelations and opened up scripture like we’ve never seen before. The revelations include The Ten Virgins (what the oil is exactly, why they can’t share it, and why it can be purchased) and also The Talent Parable (why they had different amounts, and what the table of exchange means).
1. What is a Lost Sheep?
This is the wakeup call that the lost sheep who are of the house of Israel, the House of God. The Lost Sheep aren’t just the people that used to serve God and strayed away to do their own thing, like not read their Bible and attend church. The Lost Sheep also includes those that read their Bible, show up to church, but live their life in their own way serving their own purpose in life. The scriptures will speak to this point themselves.
2. God’s Plan (part 1)
Jumping right into this study, immediately we’ll see everyone was created for a purpose. We have a plan that God has created for each and every one of us that we are required to follow. The Bible is full of people who followed The Plan and those that did not. The Holy Spirit has opened the story of Sampson in a way we haven’t seen before, in the light of The Plan of how accurately he followed The Plan. Then the study turns to the New Testament with John the Baptist and how he handled The Plan for his life. This study clearly answers how he lost his head. The point is clearly driven home at the dangers of not following God’s plan when we look at Gehazi, Elisha’s assistant. After reading, Romans 11:29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” We farther see that God truly has a plan for everyone and it’s our job to seek out The Plan.
3. God’s Plan (part 2)
This is about getting to work on God’s Plan for your life. It’s ok if The Plan of God is unknown, it’s a great starting point. But some people make excuses as to why they can’t follow The Plan for their life. Jesus tells a story of ancient people making excuses, and people still do that today. But everyone will see that God does have a plan and we’re expected to be working on that plan. Sometimes when people pray, they may hear simple starts to The Plan, such as clean up a junk room. Believe it or not, that’s actually Biblical and when reading in Hebrew everyone will see why! The study continues on how to take steps towards knowing The Plan God has for you.
4. Too Late for Some
This study contains deep revelational wisdom on understanding on The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins and The Parable of The Parable of The Talents. I’m so thankful the Holy Spirit has opened up these parables to us and explained exactly what both of them mean. After understanding the parables, the study focuses on how to be assessed by God for bigger plans and what’s holding up your plan in a humorous and memorable way. Finally, the study ends with driving home the point that when we hold our gifts back, we’re holding back help from a hurt and dying world. God won’t take this lightly.
5. Judgment Day
This is communion week! The end of this study, we go over what Jesus said in Matthew 25 about Judgement Day. It’s asked of the people what they did for Jesus. This study lets people reflect on two important points to remember:
1. Seek God’s Plan for your life (work order)
2. What are you doing for Jesus? (food, clothing, water, shelter)
Pass out a handout to help everyone get started on seeking The Plan, and then take communion. Use the remaining time to discuss what everyone has learned and what changes they have already made.
Thank you for going through this overview. God has blessed us greatly by opening up parables that have always been a confusing mystery to others and to me. My hope and prayer over this series is that it blesses you as much as it has me and my ministry.
